The "Zendalas" throughout Il Mercato are a combination of a mandala and Zentangle, a relatively new technique that is actually thousands of years old = the repetition of patterns. Even the Romans did it in their mosaics! Elisabeth D'Antoni started using this technique after a couple of lessons on Zentangle with her friend Annie Reiser in Colorado.

Each drawing is completely original. It is professionally scanned and printed on archival paper. Drop by the restaurant and see them live. You can buy them right off the wall!
